The Baby Couponing Basics

Here it is, the much anticipated first blog post on how to have baby brand taste on a baby generic budget.

First and foremost the most important thing is to sign up for any and everything baby related. This is so important because it is very rare that there are baby related coupons in your Sunday paper. Most of these websites will do a mass coupon mailing to you shortly after signing up to help you jump start your stockpile. After they send you the initial mailing they usually follow up with additional coupons and samples at least every quarter. Make sure that you're registering with a valid email address because they're also prone to email some valuable coupons as well. The other thing to do is for everything you register yourself for, make sure you're mailing any and everyone that is willing to let you use their address. Don't forget that most of us have a work address we can have things mailed too as well.

Here are a list of some of my favorite sites:

www.publix..com
This is my all time favorite one because when you join the baby club they send you a book as well as tons of store coupons. Some of these coupons are for fully free items, while the other ones can turn into a valuable coupon because you can stack their store coupon for Huggies or Pampers with the manufacturers coupons for double savings! Even if a publix isn't the most convenient store for you it's still important to register because most other grocery stores will accept their coupons with the same rule of being able to stack them.

While you're registering at some of these sites make sure you're signing up for their rewards programs. Pampers and Huggies both have rewards programs where you can enter codes from the products for free diapers or other things for your children.

I know that seems like a lot of information but it's so important to make sure that you have these coupons coming in regularly! Also I'm going to try to post when I find great deals and what coupons I used to get these great deals. Today I got 14 jars of Earth's Best baby food for $.28 a jar. Right now they have the stage 1 foods on sale for 2/$.99 and if you go to www.earthsbest.com right now you can print out a coupon for $1 off of 7 jars. The publix baby club also sent a coupon for $1 off of 10 jars. I used the publix coupon and two of the manufacturers to get it down to $.28 a jar. Even without the store coupon this is still a good deal, so make sure you go print the coupons and head to publix and stock up.

I'm also going to say one last thing for you expectant mommies or mommies with newborns. The jar food is usually shelf stable for about a year or so after you buy it and you know that eventually your child will eat it so if you know that it will be consumed before it expires it's okay to buy it before you need it. Throughout this whole thing the one common denominator is that you do not want to be running out at midnight to buy something because that's when you will spend the most money.

Those are the basics and I hope this helps to get everyone started! Make sure you check back tomorrow for a much shorter tip!!
